ABOUT ME

Celebrating all bodies through the transformative experience of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Hi, I’m Isabel. I’m from Hendersonville, NC, and serve the Henderson County, Greenville (SC) County, and Buncombe County communities.

As a birth-doula, I offer prenatal, birth, and immediate postpartum care and support. I’ve worked with growing families, adolescent parents, and children for over 10 years in various capacities including childcare, social work, parent education, and doula work.

I feel passionately that every pregnant/birthing person deserves comprehensive healthcare - encompassing but not limited to birth justice, informed consent, evidence-based research, and education, empowering birthing people and their chosen families, inclusive and trauma-informed birthwork, along with being in tune with our bodies and nervous systems.

My goal is to serve and create a safe space for all family structures, including those in LGBTQIA2s+ communities. My work in advocacy, empowerment, and education are based in the belief that the integration of empathy, anti-racism, and harm reduction define the experience of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I offer up to my clients the ability to listen, find humor in any circumstance, empathize with grief and pain, create comfort, bring forth positive light, and provide tough love when necessary.

“Isabel is an amazing doula.

We started to work with her during our second trimester. She was always so helpful when I was unsure of the many wonders of pregnancy or postnatal by having an answer or leading me in the direction of one. She joined me at a few of my appointments and always made sure my questions were being asked and answered. During labor she helped prolong my stamina, guiding and supporting me during the transitional phase and being there for me as a cheerleader while I pushed. Isabel exceeded my expectations of a doula. I don’t think my birth plan would have been followed so well without her. I would recommend Isabel to anyone looking for a doula, as she truly wants what is best for the parents and baby!”

I would definitely recommend Isabel if you are looking for a doula who will be your champion during such a sacred time.

Isabel as our doula was the support we absolutely needed! I had a surprisingly fast labor. Not only did she meet us at the hospital in the middle of the night within 20 minutes, but she also transformed the labor room into a peaceful oasis with candles and our favorite playlist before I even had time to make it into the laboring bath. My son came rocketing into the world within an hour of arriving at the hospital and my husband and I were both a little shocked! Isabel advocated for us to have the privacy and quiet time we needed during the golden hour to focus on meeting our little son.

Before the delivery, Isabel took time to get to know my pregnancy journey and was moral support for a few important prenatal visits that my husband wasn’t able to attend. She asked great questions and it was good to know there was someone by my side taking notes for if (or when) my pregnancy brain forgot details.

In the postpartum time, we were even more thankful to have a doula who provided some TLC to me and to my sleep-deprived husband as we transitioned to a family of four. ”
